January Book Report
A Biography
DUE DATE: See Ms. Cannata for specific dates!
Choose a biography (factual stories about real people from the past or present) to read for this month. You should select a book about someone you admire (a hero). The children/young adult section of a library is a great place to find these books.
Report:
Write a 2 page report about him/her. Your final copy should be typed. Make sure you check for spelling! There should be several paragraphs to separate ideas. The paper should focus on important facts about the hero. Write about your hero’s beliefs and/or how your hero changed or affected America (or the world) for the better. You may want to get additional information from the internet.

Illustration: Draw a picture of your hero for your report. This is due on: See Ms. Cannata
Opinion: Write a one page opinion of your hero. How can you be more like him or her? What do you admire about your hero? Your final copy should be typed. Make sure you check for spelling! This is due on: See Ms. Cannata
Speech and Costume: You are to become your hero. Write a speech, using at least 5 important facts/beliefs taken from your research. Memorize this speech and be prepared to present it to the class on You will need to dress up as your hero. Please do not spend money on this. Be creative in your costume.
