Dear Seventh Grade Parents,
I would like to welcome all of you to the 2008-2009 school year at Good Shepherd Catholic School. I will be the seventh grade homeroom teacher this year. I will be teaching Science, Social Studies, Algebra and Pre-Algebra, Miss Ciccarello will be teaching Religion and Spanish, Ms. Dickson will teach English, and Literature will be covered by Mrs. Widmann.
This school year is going to be an exciting one. We cover a lot of interesting topics in seventh grade. In religion, the New Testament and Jesus is covered; we study world civilization in social studies and dissect the specifics in life science. Besides the reading they will do in class with Mrs. Widmann, I encourage your child to read at least one reading book of their choice a month, this will help build and develop reading and writing skills. I have also planned curriculum-related field trips & fun creative projects for the upcoming year. I hope this year will be a challenging and successful school experience for your child in terms of intellectual and spiritual growth.
Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and we need to work together for the benefit of your child. I need you to support my academic, home and discipline efforts here at school. In return, I will keep you informed about all aspects of your child’s experiences at school. With school and home working together, I know that each and every student can have his or her most successful school year yet. I am looking forward to meeting you personally at Back to School Night.
Sincerely,
Ms. Bhakta
