Goals for the Year | top
- Provide a positive, caring, structured and stimulating learning environment for all students.
- Maintain a strong, academic environment in which students work at their individual levels.
- Promote a positive attitude towards school and school responsibilities.
- Maintain high standards and expectations for all students
Communication with Parents | top
It is important to me to have open communication between school and home. I will keep you notified about classroom behavior, homework, and classroom effort on a weekly basis. A score sheet and all work or tests for that week will be sent home every Friday. So you can monitor your child’s progress each week. It can be signed by you and returned on Monday. It is important that we work together for the benefit of your child. There will also be a classroom website you can look on line to see what we did and what events are ahead.
Please call me with any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s performance or behavior in my class.
Classroom Standards | top
I maintain strict classroom standards in order to promote the highest amount of learning in the small amount of time we spend at school. The amount of time I spend each day disciplining students will take away from the teaching and learning to be done this year. Students know what the rules and consequences are and they are expected to behave responsibly.

Homework | top
Homework is given to reinforce what is learned in class. I give homework from Monday to Thursday and sometime Friday. Students have a homework folder and are expected to turn it in everyday that homework is assigned. Homework should be checked by an adult to make sure it is neat and correct. Each student has an agenda book that they write their homework assignments in. The book is checked and signed by me before they leave school. Parents need to sign the book to make sure they do all the assignments.
Returning homework is very important and is taken very seriously. Any child not returning their homework will be doing their homework during recess time. Chronic offenders will receive a poor grade on their report card. Please help your child to learn to be responsible for their own homework. Let us start setting the foundation of responsibility now. NO EXCUSES!
Attendance and Tardies | top
Please have your child to school on time. A child who misses the first 5-10 minutes of school on a regular basis will miss necessary information for that day. We begin our day immediately and students who are tardy or absent, miss important learning time.
